PayPal Setup and Troubleshooting
PayPal support for new Enrollware accounts has been discontinued as of 9/1/2019.
Since PayPal payments are processed outside of your Enrollware system it’s imperative that you set up your Instant Payment Notifications (IPN) in PayPal correctly.
When a student registers for one of your classes and submits the class registration payment using your PayPal account, PayPal processes the payment and transmits the IPN back to Enrollware. Once we receive the IPN from PayPal notifying us of a successful transaction we will post the student registration in the appropriate class. If your Enrollware system does not receive the successful IPN, we will not post the student registration in class since we don’t know if the payment was successful or not. For this reason, it is required that you configure your PayPal account to send payment notifications back to your Enrollware system.
Required steps for using PayPal as your payment gateway:
Step 1:
In your PayPal Account, go to my account –> profile and settings – my setting tools – instant payment notifications – update – choose IPN settings.
Step 2:
Paste the notification URL https://www.enrollware.com/ipn.aspx and enable the option “Receive IPN messages” then click SAVE.
Missing Registrations
If you receive an email payment notification from PayPal for a student registration yet the student does not appear on the appropriate class roster, this means that PayPal has not transmitted the IPN back to your Enrollware system. Your first course of action is to log into your PayPal account and verify the IPN was sent to Enrollware. To do this, simply navigate to your Instant Payment Notification setting and view your IPN History page. Your IPN History page will provide the status of all instant payment notifications sent to your Enrollware system. If the transaction payment notification was sent back to Enrollware and a successful Transaction ID is present yet the student does not appear on your class roster, copy this information and send it to our support group for investigation at support@enrollware.com. If the instant payment notification does not appear in your IPN history you should contact PayPal support for assistance. Enrollware is unable to troubleshoot PayPal system issues.
